Markus Kurczyk

Markus is a former Major General in the German Air Force and was stationed in high-ranking positions in Afghanistan for almost three years during his service. When he left Afghanistan after his last year tour in January 2020, he hoped for an end to the war and believed in a future for the wonderful people he had met in Afghanistan. The hasty withdrawal and the images from the airport in Kabul hit him hard and his commitment to the local staff was without alternative. They not only assisted him in the successful completion of his duties, they saved his life more than once. “In return, we owe the local staff our comradeship and loyalty.
